Job Description
In this role, you'll oversee managing a group of programmers to develop, maintain, and optimize cross-platform systems and tools that include gameplay, graphics, animation, physics, networking, and other core systems. It will be your responsibility to establish work priorities, develop plans and assist production in planning and assigning tasks to team members.
Responsibilities
Work closely with content directors, game and level design, art and production to develop systems, deliverable schedules and technical design documentation.
Manage a team of gameplay programmers and collaborate with production to distribute tasks.
Conduct interdepartmental team meetings to gather requests regarding features and implementation strategies.
Participate in the recruitment of new members of the gameplay programming team.
Job Qualifications
Experience
7+ years of experience in video game programming.
Have participated in the delivery of at least 2 AAA game titles.
Have significant experience in managing development teams
Education
B.Sc. in computer science or equivalent, is an asset.
Knowledge/Skills
Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership abilities.
Be motivated and able to collaborate well with content creation teams in a multidisciplinary environment.
Strong desire to build cutting-edge technology.
Strong C/C++ and 3D math skills
Good understanding of programming principles for gameplay, AI, animation, physics and networking.
Knowledge of the complete programming lifecycle of AAA video games, including prototyping, production, and delivery of the final product.
Excellent organization and writing skills. Bilingualism English/French is strongly desired.
Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4/5 game engine, a plus.
