Today we officially unveiled 4 large-scale murals across the city of Montreal related to the game Gotham Knights.

In collaboration with LNDMRK, the artistic agency at the head of the iconic MURAL festival, we commissioned four local artists to erect artistic murals across the city, each representing one of the four heroes of the game Gotham Knights: Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin. The game is scheduled for release on October 25.

We asked each artist collaborating on the project for their interpretation of a character among Batman’s four protegés. Kevin Ledo, a Montreal portrait painter who notably painted the Leonard Cohen mural on Saint-Dominique Street, represented Robin at the Roy/Saint-Denis intersection; Jonathan Bergeron painted Nightwing at the Cartier/Marie-Anne intersection; the artist MORT represented Red Hood at corner of Saint-Urbain and Villeneuve; and the duo Lacey & Layla painted Batgirl at the rue de la Visitation/La Fontaine intersection, a few steps away from our WB Games Montreal studio.

“This is a big step for our studio” said Stéphane Roy, studio director WB Games Montreal. “The release of our Gotham Knights game marks a new chapter for us, which we wanted to celebrate in a big way.”

“Seeing these characters come to life on the walls of the city of the studio in which they were born is a source of great pride for us, and we are delighted to see them blend in with the city’s cultural and artistic life” adds Patrick Redding, creative director of the game Gotham Knights. “With our characters overlooking the city, it feels like they are watching over Montreal in the same way they watch over Gotham City.”

The murals, all located within walking distance from each other, will remain on display for 12 months in the city, until June 2023.
