Job Description

WB Games Montreal seeks a Senior Texture Artist.

 

Your New Role…

In this role you will work closely with the Lead, Art Directors, the technical art team, and your team to create high quality environment textures as well as for characters and props. You will be responsible to create and refine the assets for assigned aspects of the game and may also assist the lead in defining process and pipelines along with aesthetic goals.

 

Your Role Accountabilities...
  • Work in close collaboration with other texture artists to create textures for environments, characters, and other assets.
  • Work in collaboration with the Lead, Art Directors, and Technical Artists to ensure that all textures respect artistic and technical requirements in engine.
  • Participate as a member of the team to find various technical and artistic solutions by providing constructive feedback.
  • Regularly present your work to leadership and quickly adapt to the feedback received.
  • Work with the team to define best practices and workflows and production pipelines.
  • Offer mentorship to lesser experienced members of your team to elevate the global aesthetic of the game.

 

Qualifications & Experience…
  • 5+ years of experience as a game artist and have participated in the creation of a at least AAA title.
  • Person who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys good communication and sharing knowledge.
  • Creative, focused, self-motivated, resourceful problem-solver.
  • Able to achieve realism and balance with albedo / normal / specular / height values.
  • Able to work in a height-based texturing workflow for material blending.
  • Strong experience with PBR texture pipelines.
  • Deep knowledge of industry software packages such as Substance Designer, Substance Painter, 3DsMax, Maya etc.
  • Able to plan Material/Texture Kits for Architectural assets or groups of assets.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine is a desired asset.
  • Comfortable with Zbrush/Mudbox Height Map modeling.
  • Portfolio/website demonstrating your art skills.
